Education:
1. Our media consistently claims there is an education crisis in the United States. What information can you provide to refute this statement? - Include information about the strengths of American education. Examples: programs, classes, teachers, college preparedness, academic achievements, etc.
A strength in our U.S education system is that our teachers and faculty are very open and supportive of our students and provide us with the complaints we have and are open to some changes if there is a problem in their schools.
Another strength the U.S has is the K-12 system that has been going on since the 20th century and it has proven to help younger kids into being prepared for more difficult work and help prepare them for high School.
We spend the most money on our education system compared to any other country out there in the world
Another strength in our education system is our open mindedness and high diversity rate of students in different colleges and high schools
Another strength is that the United States has the highest number of world class learning institutions covering all major and minor discipline. degrees with these institutions are recognized worldwide and combined with these highly educated teachers with superior technology show a superior learning experience
One more strength in our education system is Enhanced content standard and evaluation: Curriculum includes content that is contemporary as well as takes into account its origins and history. Evaluation is continuing and not based on scheduled tests and examinations.
2. How does your administration plan to increase the nation’s high school completion rate? Explain. - Include programs, support services, etc.
we plan to create incentives for students based on well they perform in school.
we plan to evaluate students more thoroughly based on how they learn and try to assess their weaknesses.
we also could give more help to kids that are starting out in school, and kids that are barely passing or passing by a few points help so that way they can pass school with a higher grade and not barely passing.
3. What is your stance on standardized testing? Do you believe standardized testing serves a purpose? Explain.
We do not approve on standardized testing, we believe that it creates stress and effects our students and teachers in a negative way.
standardized testing does not serve a purpose because it creates immense amounts of stress on the students as well as teachers
if a student is not a good test taker the student as well as the teacher can and or will be penalized
They only focus on the whole continuity of the students instead of focusing as the student as a whole
4. What are the positive and negative effects of standardized testing for both students and teachers?
A positive effect of standardized testing is giving out teachers an evaluation of students to see how well they are doing. A negative effect of standardized testing is stress that our students get before the test and may also affect school work before because of stressing.
Standardized testing gives teachers guidance to help them determine what to teach students and when to teach it.
Standardized testing causes many teachers to only “Teach the Test” meaning that they would only help the student learn in a linear fashion instead of a creative way
Standardized testing only focuses on the entirety of students instead of the student as a whole
It creates a lot more stress on both the student and teachers, it is said that most teachers quit because they can not handle the stress of helping their students succeed and and its arguably even more stressful for students because this is what is most important to them and what helps shape their lives putting an enormous amount of stress on them
5. What other methods can be used to assess our students and teachers? Provide specific examples to support.
- Another method we can use to assess students is to evaluate them 1 on 1 and figure out there strengths and weaknesses but not by grade.
-we will create communication based programs to help student and teachers more effectively communicate
-Google classroom makes it easy for students to submit work from any smartphone or computer
-teachers can give feedback that the students receive immediately on the r smartphones
-deadlines are written down so they can't be questioned
-remind 101 is a great way for teachers to remind students of upcoming work that is due and events
6. How do you plan to ensure that students around the United States are college and career ready when they graduate from High School? Explain with specific examples.
we plan to ensure thats kids are college and career ready by setting up classes like college so that way kids can have a better transition and learn easily
we can change our curriculum when school starts in 9th grade to the way colleges teach
we can have teachers make sure students have more of an understanding of a subject so that way they can do better.
7. Education has been called the great equalizer. Do you believe this statement rings true today in the United States? Explain why or why not. * If you do not agree with this statement, how do you plan to change things? Explain.
education is considered the great equalizer in the U.S to some degree because the education system varies state to state
If every student was on the same page as the rest of the countries students education would be more equal and all students would be able to get a suitable education
without education the country would be chaos
8. What do you believe is the greatest problem in American education today? How does your administration plan to combat this issue? Explain.
The greatest problem in our education system is mainly how static the education system has been for decades now. With hardly any changes that came out of the United States students have become to realize how out dated this form of teaching is and it needs to have change
Another problem is how standardized testing affects students dramatically by increasing pressure on students and not adding anything as the individual student as a whole instead of comparing students on a whole spectrum
Another problem that need to be addressed is the working problems that students experience, students are forced to learn so much in such little time and thus results in bad working habits for students making them do drastic things.
9. Why should Americans trust you to improve American education? Explain with specific examples.
Americans should trust us to improve the education system by lowering class size
making teachers be hired harder to get job making them more qualified
hire more qualified teachers
10. How to make college more affordable?
Offer federal scholarships to the top 10% of their grade
Help more students graduate and graduate faster to help boost affordability and help ensure that less students drop out
Another way is too slim down nom constructional costs because a thorough scrubbing of non-instructional costs typically reveals savings opportunities of 10-to-20 percent even in institutions that pride themselves on being thrifty.
Another way to help to make college more affordable is too try on making programs to help focus on decreasing dropout rates of students for maximum coverage
